In spite of being on set this past week for most of the time doing some old age makeup on a young man, I was able to come up with a new song for Spintunes, unlike last year when I signed up and felt so...it was a bad year, ok? I didn't do any then, but I am back!
Richard Matheson is one of only 2 writers who created stores for both the original Twilight Zone and for the newer one in the 80's. I always remembered Mare Winningham in "Button Button", which creeped me out. Ted sent me a short upbeat chorus but I could not get it to transfer over to Audacity to save my life, nor could I record multiple tracks and pull them into a cohesive whole. And since I didn't get home from todays shoot until after 9 pm and didn't have anything recorded, I had to fake it and mostly accapella it. Wish I had a pet musician on call, but Ted it busy in Florida with a NEW baby so I am just glad I got the jingle to start me off!

Push it
Spintunes 20 March 19, 2020
JoAnn Abbott & Menage a Tune
A box came to my door today, though I didn’t know who from
A red button on top of brown wood, under a clear plastic dome
Next day a man came to give me the key
To the dome and he told me the deal
If I push the button I get 20 G’s….
But somebody will die
Man. This CAN’T be real
Chorus
Just push the button and your life will change
A great opportunity though it seems strange
Just press the button, the cash will be here
There’s no need to worry or fear
So now I sit here and stare at the box
Chain smoking these cancer sticks
I need that money, but if that part if true
What if somebody dies?
Perhaps it’s just some old drunk in the street
Or some rich guy who I never met
I mean, would it matter? 20 thou is a lot
Don’t even know the guy
And I’d be out of debt
Just think of all I’d get
Just push the button and your life will change
A great opportunity though it seems strange
Just press the button, the cash will be here
There’s no need to worry or fear
>Sound of a button being pushed, CLICK!<
You pushed the button! Now your life will change
Time for a new person to get the same deal
Yes you pressed the button, the cash is right here
There’s no need to worry or fear
Who gets the chance next? Oh it’s no one you know…
It’s only some stranger that you’ve never met
Perhaps he’s in need of a sudden cash flow
To help get him out of his debt
But you pressed the button, your cash is right here
There’s no need to worry or fear
Yes you pressed the button, your cash is right here
There’s no need to worry or fear
There’s no need to worry or fear
