A retelling of the story in "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia", but tis time 30 years in the future. I never liked the way the woman got away with murder in the first song. Done for the Spintunes challege in 2010

All my life she would tell me about
How my mama ran off the night my daddy died
How a dirty judge cut him down to hide his own shame
And my aunt would sneer as she told me that I
Didn’t look like pa and had my mamas eyes-
And how she could tell every time that I went and lied

30 years later and a part of a team
Comparing old cases with the new ones we’re seein’
Till the day I get a chance to open daddy’s old file.
But the bullets didn’t match the gun he had
The DNA said kin- but not my dad
So it had to be another one there from his fam’ly that night

Washed the Georgia clay from my ma’s remains

My aunt could tell when she saw my face
