about
I was asked to write a song based on Psalm 34:8, "Taste and See that the LORD is good", which was the subject of a Bible Study/one day ladies Bible retreat on March 29, 2014. My friend Yvonne North , visiting from Kenya where she is a medical missionary was able to come over and play guitar for it. She wore the skin off her fingertips doing so too!
lyrics
When we wake up, let us hunger and thirst
For your word and your wisdom each day.
Let us break our fast, with the bread which will last
Feed our souls and our bodies this way
Chorus
Father we pray, give us this day
Our daily bread, for it is sweet
Let us taste and see
How good life can be
When we trust in the Eternal
For our needs
Mid day is here and the sun shines so bright
But mere water is not what we need
Let us slake our thirst, with your cup of life first
For by it from our sins we are freed
Chorus
Father we pray, give us this day
Our daily bread, for it is sweet
Let us taste and see
How good life can be
When we trust in the Eternal
For our needs
When evening falls, once again let us dine
Let us sit at your table each night
At the feast of the King, we will praise Him and sing
At His banquet of sweetness and light.
Chorus
Father we pray, give us this day
Our daily bread, for it is sweet
Let us taste and see
How good life can be
When we trust in the Eternal
For our needs
When we trust in the Eternal
For our needs
