about
Written for Spintunes 9 round one, where the challenge was to write an anthem for a fictional country. I like watching some of the shows on YouTube, and LOVE the character of Tyrion Lannister, so this is what I imagine HE would have written if he had been ordered to by his jerk of a nephew, the King Joffrey. The tune is originally from my High Schools theme song, except for the chorus bits. I would love to hear it done by a decent brass band and men's chorus some day!
lyrics
Westeros, Valar Morghulis!
By Tyrion Lannister
(AKA JoAnn Abbott)
A song written by the command of his most royal majesty, Joffry Lannister, to be sung at his wedding. Try to remember to remove your tongue from your cheek while singing it.
Westeros, we sing to thee,
Great realm of strength and peace
Guided by the Iron Throne
May our king’s fame increase!
A world of ice and fire, we’ve
No fear a game of thrones!
No clash of kings, no storm of swords,
For West’ros our true home
Bridge
Valar Morghulis, Our watchword and guide
Valar Morghulis, We say it with pride
Valar Morghulis, As enemies fly!
Valar Morghulis, All men must die!
Westeros, our native land
We’re one big family
Houses joined who’d never fight
No plots or enmity
Let other lands learn from our king
Atop his throne on high
Valar Morghulis, join with us
Or learn all men must die.
